The line graph compares the fluctuations of birth rate in UK among women in different age group during 35-year period, from 1973 to 2008.
Overall, it is evident that in most of age groups, the birth rate decreased, except for 30-35 and 35-39 age group. People aged 25-29 were those having the highest birth rate during that time.
In 1973, the birth rate of those aged 5-29 was 140 per 1000 people, which was higher than that of all the other groups. After som fluctuations in the 1980s and 1990s, these figures fell to 120 per 1000 people in 2008. Having the similar trend, the birth given by women aged 20-25 and under 20 were 125 and 60 per 1000 peole respectively in 1973 and then these figures decline gradually to only 95 and 40 per 1000 people in 2008.
The birth rate of 30-35 age groups increased from 70 to 85 birth per 1000 people during 35 years. These figures of 35-39 age group also rose up, from 40 to 65 per 1000 people in 2008, which was higher than that of under 20 age group. During this time, the number of children borned by women over 40 years old smoothly decreased from 20 to 10 per 1000 peole and remained the lowest among six different groups.
