The graph below shows the consumption of fish in a city of Japa between 1980 and 2015
The line graph compares three different types of fish that a Japanese used in a week during a period of 35 years, commencing from 1980. Units are measured in grams
In general, there was an upward tendency in mackerel and salmon consumption, while the opposite was true to tuna. In addition, tuna predominated for the most given period except the last 12 years in which mackerel and tuna respectively replaced as the most favorite fish kind.
Although starting at different points in 1980, at 230 and 170, tuna and mackerel shared the same pattern in the next 10 years. The former and the latter reached a peak at 270 and 170 in 1985, after which both experienced a dramatic decrease by 30 between 1985 and 1990. Thereafter, there was an inverse proportion in these two kinds, the former continuously declined to 100 in the final year, with the most dramatic drop over the last 5 years while the latter soared considerably to approximately 200 at the end of the period.
Beginning at 70 in 1980, which was by far lower than the other two kinds, the amount of salmon eaten rose over threefold to nearly 250 in 2015 after stabilizing during the initial 25 years
