The line graph compares the electricity demand in England during a day in 2 seasons: winter and summer, while the pie chart illustrates the percentage of electricity using by four aspects in each English home. It is possible to see from the line graph that the consumption of electricity in winter was higher than that in summer, and the second chart shows that heating rooms and water occupied the largest rate of total electricity used.
As the line graph shows, during the whole day, the electricity use in winter fluctuated dramatically around 40000 units, in contrast to a slight fluctuation around 15000 units in summer. Although the electricity need in both seasons bottomed out at before 9 A.M (over 30000 units in winter and under 15000 units in summer), this data in winter experienced a noticeable rise to reach a peak of under 50000 units at after 9 P.M, whereas the figure in summer only peaked at 20000 units at 3 P.M.
Turning to the pie chart, in each English home, over half of the electricity consumption (52.5%) was captured by heating rooms and water; on the contrary, three remaining sectors only accounted for a tiny minority (approximately 15% each aspect) of total electricity used.
