Overall, it can be seen that England had the highest number of female workers in 2013 but was overtaken by Scotland in the following year whereas Wales was the country with the lowest amount of female unemployment in 2013 but Northern Ireland dropped significantly its rate in 2014 so that it was the country showing the minimum quantity of women in the workforce in both years.
In 2013, the percentages of females who were working was 6.8%, 5.4% and 5.6% respectively in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which, looking at 2014, present a downward trend but while the first two countries decreased their rates less than by 4 percent, Northern Ireland had a decline of 1.0%.
In sharp contrast, Scotland instead saw a growth of unemployment of female sex passing from 6.1% rate in 2013 to 6.7% rate by 2014.
