The given line graph compares the number of male and female students graduating from Canadian universities over a span of 14 years starting from 1992.
Noticeably, the number of women gaining university degrees was higher than that of men throughout the whole period. To illustrate, in 1992, there were approximately female graduates whereas this figure for males was only 70000. Additionally, this difference still appeared in 2006 with 150000 women graduating from university comparing to over 90000 male students.
Another stricking feature to note is that the number of both male and female graduates generally followed an upward trend. In 1992-1995 period, the number of female students witnessed a slight rise before suffering a gradual decline from 1995 to 1998. However, from 1998 onwards, this figure experienced a sharp growth, reaching its peak of approximately 150000 in 2006. The trend for male students was similar. Having been followed a period of volatility from 1992 to 2001, the number of male graduates dramatically increased, leaping to a new peak in 2006.
