The graph describes the percentage of people who in age 65 in Japan, Sweden and the USA from 1940 to 2040.
Overall, it is predicted that there will be an increasing in average of number of people aged 65 during this period. Additionally, the proportion in the USA is forecasted to follow a dramatic upward trend.
Looking in the details, in 1940, the number of people was 65 in Japan made up at just 5% while this data in the USA reached the highest place, at nearly 10%. After 22 years, the former witnessed a slightly decrease by 2% before experiencing a sudden and remarkable rise. As a result, it is projected that the percentage of Japanese aged 65 will peaked at the top of the graph at around 23% at the end of this period.
In contrast, though the latter is anticipated to go up in the next 20 years and reach a peak of 28% after dropping slightly by 1%, this percentage in the USA just stood at the third place in 2040. In the other hand, the figure in Sweden abruptly fall in 1990 and also is predicted to decline again in 2030, to 13% and 17% respectively. But then it will climb to above 25% according to predictors.
