The graph below shows UK acid rain emissions, measured in millions of tones, from four different sectors between 1990 and 2007.
The line chart depicts the emission of acid precipitation over a period of 16 years in four different sectors in the UK. Overall, a much larger number of electricity, gas and water provision released an acid rain emissions in comparison with three remaining sectors, and domestic experienced the slowest number of emission.
In 1991, the number of electricity, gas and water provision started at 3.3 million tonnes, while the figure for transportation and communication stood at 0.7 million tonnes. From 1991 to 2003, electricity, gas and water provision seen a significant drop by 2.5 million tonnes, whereas transportation and communication was the only sector increased gradually until it had the same figure with electricity, gas and water provision at 0.8 million tonnes in 2003. After that, both of them decrease slightly in the late four years.
The emission of domestic and other industries did not change between 1991 and 1994 with 2.1 million tonnes and 0.6 million tonnes respectively, followed by a steadily went down in the next 11 years. After that, both of them stayed again at 1.2 million tonnes for other industries and 0.2 million tonnes for domestic.
