The supplied line graphs give information on the unemployment rates in two countries namely the US and Japan from 1993 to 1999.
Overall, over period of six years the rates for the US decreased with few fluctuations and for Japan increased before joining the same point at the end of given period.
As can be observed, in 1993 unemployment rates were around 2.5 and 7 percent for Japan and the US respectively. In other words, jobless people were highest in the US and lowest in Japan.Nevertheless, the scenario was changed in following 5 years and with oscillations the rates rose gradually in Japan and declined tediously in the US. In march1996, japan jobless people reached approximately 4% and the US just above 5%.
Following this, the rates became more or less close to each other and ran parallely in 1997. Afterwards, in mid 1998 both countries figures merges and become plateued till 1999 at 5 percent.
