The graph give us information about four groups of people who uses differnt languages as their mother tongue in Australia from 1986 to 2011.
Overall, the number of people who speak Chinese and Arabic witnessed rapidly rises, with the figure for the former seeing the fastest growth. In addition, the number of Italian and Greek speakers saw a steady drop on all over the pirod of time
Both Chinese and Arabic speakers increased in numbers. Specifically, the former substantialy rose from just around 100,000 in 1986 to over 350,000 in 2011, whilst the latter also witnessed an dramaticly increase, albeit less pronounced, from 50,000 in the year of 1986 to about 150,000 in 2011.
Speakers of the two European languages, in the meantime, underwent opposite patterns. The number of people speaking Greek as their mother tongue fell slightly from around 225,000 in 1988 to about 175,000 in 2011. Similarly, Italian speakers also underwent a drop of approximately 40,000 from 150,000, making Italian the least spoken language of the four after 2011.
