The line graph reflects the popularity of vegetarianism among UK teenagers from 1960 uptil now and provides projections until 2020.
Overall, it is shown that during the first twenty year period from 1960, the figure of UK adolescents maintaining a vegetarian diet experienced a remarkable rise, which was not and predicted not to be replicated until 2020.
Between 1960 and 1980, the figure rose dramatically from 0% to peak at the all-time high of around 15%. Within the following decade, however, it went on a drop totaled around a staggering 7%, followed by 10 years of mild fluctuations. In 1998, vegetarianism’s popularity among UK youngsters drop to the lowest point in 20 years’ time since 1980 at 4.8%. In 2000, the figure reemerged to 5.5% and nearly doubled by 2013. Projection until 2020 suggests that the figure will decrease slightly within the next 5 years before resuming the upward trend.
