The table below shows the changes in some household types in Canada from 1984 to 2020.

The given table describes the variations in the household types and families from 1984 to 2020.
It should be noted that household which one person and lone parent were nearly doubled in percentage from 1984 to 2020. In 1984 only 6 percent people were lived by themself, however in 2020, 12% households were occupied by lone people. In the similar way, four percent people were categorized as alone parent, but in 2020, the numbers were raised to 12%. In contrast to above mentioned trend, people who lived with dependent children were reduced from 52% to 36%, thereby, those households were demised by nearly 40%.
There was only slight variations for the couples lived with either no children or non dependent children. The couples who lived with no children steady increased by 4% from 1984 to 2004, and afterwards they increased by 1% in 2020. in the opposite side, the percentage of couples with non dependent children was only reduced by 1% from 1984 to 2020.
In conclusion, from 1984 to 2020, the household with non dependent children was reduced by 40%, one person and lone parent were increased by 50% and no children or non depended children were changed slightly. Despite all the changes couples with dependent children had maintained the position of being highest household in Canada from 1984 to 2020.
