Essay topics:

The table below shows the changes in some household types in Canada from 1984 to 2020.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table demonstrates the figures in various categories of families throughout a 36-year period in a specific country. Descriptions of the household types will be given throughout the essay on average between 1984 and 2020.
From an overall perspective, two major classifications can be detected such as people who decide to live alone and families. Even though the number of individuals who inhabit without a companion tends to increase, albeit slowly, the data belonging to them has always been the lowest approximately 11%, in comparison with others. It might be indicated that the majority of the children in Canada live dependently with their families since 1984. Conversely, the percentage of adolescents who relied on their parents has been sharply decreasing from 52% in 1986 to 36% in 2020. The ratio of married individuals who are unlikely to have children shows a gradual rise with an increase of roughly 6%. Additionally, the proportion of independent young people slightly fluctuated and then, reached a plateau in the last decade of the table (9%). The percentage of lone parents marginally climbed from 4% to 12%, despite the initial rise, the figures remained stable in the last six years as the ones without any children.
Overall, fewer children are inclined to live under parental supervision, also, a greater number of individuals have no children or choose to be the lone parent respectively over the last 36 years.
