The graph illustrates the number of people in the percentage who were able to own computers according to their education standards from 2002 to 2010.
Overall, it is clear from the graph that computer ownership showed an upward trend throughout the given period. In a gap of every two years from 2002 till 2010, the percentage of people having computers observed a steady increase. An incline in ownership was noted according to the level of educational qualification with maximum computers owned by bachelor’s and postgraduate students. The least was by learners with no high school diploma.
On the one hand, computer ownership by students with no high school diploma was about 12% in 2002. Then, it rose to almost 35% owned by high school graduates in the same year. A continuous incline in was observed till the end of period. Approximately 52% of incomplete college goers and 68% of students having bachelor’s degree owned computers in 2002. Highest ownership of around 70% was seen among postgraduate degree scholars.
On the other hand, computer owned by high school students was about 40% in 2010. It was four times more than the rate seen in 2002. However, a continuous rise was noted among ownership till the end of given period. Abut 67% of high school graduates and 82% of incomplete college goers had access to computers. However, a significant upsurge in computer ownership was seen among students possessing Bachelors and postgraduate degree having approximately 89% and around 97% respectively.
