The two bar charts illustrate the percentage of people that owned a computer, organized by year (from 2002 to 2010) and education level for the years 2002 and 2010.
Overall, computer ownership rose steadily but substantially both over time and as the academic level progressed. The youngest demographic owned the least computers while those with a Masters degree owned the most.
With regards to computer ownership by the level of education, only about 10% of high school students possessed a computer in 2002. The figure increased significantly eight years later to a little over 40%. This trend continued to increase in the subsequent demographics, with postgraduates owning the largest number of computers in both 2002 and 2010 at around 90 and 95%, respectively.
In terms of computer ownership by year, nearly 55% of the general population owned a computer in 2002. This statistic continued to climb at a gradual rate of 5% per year before it peaked at almost 75% in 2010.
