Overall, it is clear, that infant mortality reduced sharply over 22 years, and life expectancy increased gradually. Meanwhile, the expenditure on health and education rose steadily, where education sector prevailed on health funding.
In 1970 there was 70 death per 1000 birth in terms of infants, while maximum life age was 60. Over the years, people lived longer and by 1992 the age for the oldest person reached 70, whereas the figures for infant mortality dropped to 20 cases.
In 1985, 10% of UAE GDP spent on education, compared to just under 8% on health. Next 8 years, UAE witnessed a dramatic rose in education expenses, reaching about 15% of GDP in 1993 when in 1990 the health sector saw a little reduce at around 5%, even though the numbers doubled at the end of the researched period, spending 10% of GDP on health care.
