The bar charts give information about the proportion of employed workers of both genders aging from 60 to 64 in four different countries between 1970 and 2000.
Overall, there were downward trends in the percentage of employers in four countries. It was also clear that the rates of working men were always higher than those of women.
In 1970, it is evident that USA was leading in positions with the highest rates of both men and women participated in the workforce, at 86% and 78% respectively. USA was closely followed by Indonesia with 84% of men and 65% of women. Belgium was in the third place with 79% of men and 16% lower than that of women. The lowest rank was occupied by Japan with 76% of men and 56% of the opposite gender.
2000 witnessed declines in all four countries mentioned. Belgium saw a steep drop in the rate of employed women while the figure of men fall to 52%. The percentage of working men in USA was still the highest at 78% while women declined to the second lowest rate at 45%. The figures of Indonesia remained unchanged in ranking, with a slight reduction to 74% of men and 50% of women. The trend was the same for Japan with men accounted for 63% of working people and women for 47%.
