Ielts writing task 1
The line chart compares and shows some preditions for the rate of people aged 65 or more in three different countries namely Japan, Sweden and the USA between 1940 and 2040.
It is clear from the graph that all the percentages of people aged 65 and above in Japan, Sweden and the USA increase during the research period. Additionally, the figure for the USA experience the most dramatic change.
In 1940, 5% of Japanese were 65 or older, compared to approximate 7% of Sweden's population. Meanwhile, the USA had the highest rate of elderly people with 9%. The next 60 years, while there were rises in the percentage of individuals aged 65 or more in Sweden and the USA, the figure for Japan decreased to around 3% before climbed back to its initial level.
It is predicted that, in 2040, Japan will have the highest rate of people aged 65 and over among three nations, at 27%. Meanwhile, the figures for Sweden and the USA are likely to be slightly lower , at 25% and 24% respectively.
