The line chart illustrates the proportion of female employee aging from 15 to 64 in 5 countries over 6 -year period fom 2003 to 2009.
Overall, it is evident that Iceland remained the highest rate of women in this age group over the period shown, despite a mild decline. In addition, while Canada, Germany and Chile experienced a slight increase in this figure, the opposite trends were witnessed in the remaining categories.
Turning into detail, in 2003, nearly 80% of total Iceland women aging from 15 to 64 was working women, followed by Canada and Germany, with approximately 69% and 58%, respectively. In 4 years later, while Iceland still stabilized at about 80% in 2007, this figure for Canada and Germany slightly increased. Throughout the rest of the period, the number of Iceland decreased to 79% while the two countries continued upward trends, resulting in the final figures of 70% and over 65% respectively.
Regarding to the other categories, in 2003, in comparison to Turkey, which made up only 25% working women aging from 15 to 64, this figure for Chile was slightly higher, with over 35%. From 2003 to 2009, while there was a minimal rise in the number of Chile to over 40%, Turkey experienced a marginal drop, with the final number of 23%.
