Overall, the percentage of nuclear power increased in 2010, whereas all the other sources of fuel experienced a significant decrease. In 1990, coal and natural gas was predominantly used for power generation.
The percentage of electricity generated from coal and natural gas takes up nearly a third combined with 28% each. The other significant portion is made up from nuclear power and oil with nearly 17% and 22 respectively and the least power is produced using the hydropower with nearly 6%.
While comparing the production in 199 and 2010, nuclear power is predominately used in 2010 and all the other sources dipped. The figures for coal and oil takes up a quarter combined. the major change happened in nuclear power, where the electricity production makes up just below three quarters in 2010. Finally, the natural gas and oil makes up a small portion with 4 and 2 respectively.
