Interestingly, despite being in the top 3 global emitters, developing nations of India and China are not among in highest CO2 producers on a per person basis.

According to the pie chart, 31% of the CO2 emissions came from China, followed by 17% produced by the US. India, Russia, Japan and Germany accounted for approximately one fifth and the rest of the CO2 came from all other nations of the world.

In terms of emissions per person, Saudi Arabia tops by producing 16 metric tonnes followed by the US, Australia and Canada who are producing around 15 metric tonnes each. Meanwhile, South Korea and Russia released least amount of carbon dioxide which were 12 and 10 metric tonnes respectively.
