The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today

The map illustrates some changes to Grange Park in 1920 and the same place today.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the park witnessed some considerable changes during the period shown. There were noticeable different between the two maps, mostly regarding to the development of entertainment facilities and how the garden has been expanded.
The most striking change is in the centre of the park where the fountain has been destroyed to make way for a new larger rose garden with four seats at each side. Meanwhile, the stage for musicians has been demolished and replaced by a modern amphitheatre, followed by the knockdown of two gardens opposite it. On the right side of the present map, a new water feature has been replaced by the glasshouse, which is laid next to an underground entrance leading to the car park.
Turning to the other features, the entrance on Eldon street and the second on Arnold avenue have remained unchanged, but the garden on the top of the map has become to a café. Finally, the pond for water plants in 1920 has now been changed to a children’s playground.
