Essay topics:

Some people believe that violence on television and in computer games has a damaging effect on society. Others deny that these have any significant influence on people's behaviour.
What is your opinion?

It is thought by some people that Violence on television and in computer games cause many harmful effects on society, whereas others say that these factors don’t have any notable effect on an individual's behavior. In my opinion, television programs affect the attitude of today’s youth and self-development.
The television program and computer games can be educational as well as entertaining and sometime these may lead to aggressive behavior especially children because they are very easy to be influenced as they are still young and just about to know the whole world. So, whatever they see on television or games, they tend to imitate it. After watching many violence shows, they might be immune to violence and this will automatically encourage them not to hesitate to be violent in reality. Besides that, television programs also cause the development of negative social amongst youths due to the advertisements of alcohol, smoking, and sex scenes. People are more likely to learn negative values from television programs and games.
Television programs easily affect one's self-development and self-esteem. People who are addicted to television or games are willing to do anything for it including sacrifice their sleeping time just to watch their favorite shows or play video games. This will indirectly cause self-development to be affected. Television programs affect self-esteem because they might put on a diet as they want to compete with skinny beautiful models and actresses that can be seen on television. For an instant, every year men and women involved themself in different surgeries just to look like their favorite tv actor or actress. In the end, we have to remember and be aware that television also seems to possess more negative effects than positive ones.
In conclusion, tv programs and games might badly influence many individuals' habits and lead them to aggressive behavior and low self-esteem.
