The given table shows the numbers of students enrolled at Manchester University in three different years.
It is clear that the total number of student enrolments increased rapidly over a 80-year period. On the other hand, nationalities of international students became more diverse in Manchester University.
In 1967, the number of enrolments quadrupled to 1133 students, compared to just 327 students in 1937. This figure continued to rise by over 5000 students attending the university in the following 40 years. The rates of man and woman in enrolments fluctuated throughout the period. Female students only contributed 35% of the total students in 1967, but increasing to more than a half in 2017.
Percentage of those coming from nearby Manchester was seen a significant downward change, with 55% of enrolled students falling to just around 1% over the period shown. By contrast, the university became a more popular choice for overseas students. There were mild fluctuations in the proportion of international freshman from 1937 to 1967, ranging between 6% and 7% of students. However, in 2017, 32% of the total enrolments were overseas students coming from 102 countries.
