The table shows information about underground railway systems in six metropolises.
The numbers were collected and grouped into 3 categories: the opening date, the total length of railways and the passengers each year.
As can be seen from the table, London, Paris, Tokyo own the oldest and longest underground railways and the most using each year. By contrast, the remained cities have the newest, the shortest those systems and serve the least passengers.
London opened the oldest underground railway in 1863 and has the longest routes of 394 kilometres, which almost double the second oldest railways of Paris and over 35 times the shortest route of Kyoto. Networks of Tokyo, which have the shortest railways among the three oldest systems, serve the most significant passengers of the whole.
In terms of three newest underground railway systems, Washington DC has the longest routes which opened in 1976 and be harnessed the most at 144 millions users per year, which approximate tribble that in Kyoto and Los Angeles.
