Overall, it is clear that the number of visitors in three airports significantly increased through the year. From the initial year 2007 to five-year later, Frankfurt still the most popular and by 2012 it reached a peak of 69.3 million of travelers, exceeding the number in Dusseldorf and Berlin Tegel, which had only 45.6 million and 43.3 respectively. Turning to Berlin Tegel which started at the lowest point of 17.3 million, followed by a gradual rise to 39.9 million in 2009. Over the last three year, it remained stable at 43.3 million.
In addition, the figure for Dusseldorf experienced a dramatic rise to 48.2 million in 2009, before hitting a decline to 37.1 million and 33.2 million in 2010 and 2011 respectively. However, it went through a period of dramatic increase to 45.6 million of travelers in 2012.
