The table below shows how young people in Tokyo, Japan listened to music over the previous month. The pie chart shows a record company’s international findings about whether people preferred live or recorded music.
The table provides information about how male and female Japanese in Tokyo used different technology to enjoy music over a month. The pie chart illustrates the proportion of whether people opt for live or recorded music.
Overall, man in Japan seemed to listen to music over various devices than their counterpart, especially in MP3 category, while female figures, which are lower than 50% in all type of technology, show that they are not fond of music. In addition, according to the pie chart, it seems that a vast majority of people have preference in live music.
MP3 players was the most prevalent device used by male Japanese. To be precise, 79% of them listen to music on this technology, this number is almost double the female figure. In contrast, CDs has the lowest proportion in both genders, 19% for male and 22% for female. It is noticeable the live music, mp3 players and the internet share almost identical percentage in young female demographic, with 44%, 40% and 42% respectively. In addition, the internet take up to 55% of male listener, while live music is slightly higher with 60%.
Regarding the pie chart, only a quarter of the respondent said that they prefer recorded music, meanwhile this number is about two-third for live music. In order words, there is 25% people, who asked, enjoy recorded one and 70% for live music. Furthermore, a minority of people (4%) is uncertain about what they like.
