Overall, while food was mostly bought by adults, children spent a majority of their income on music. Excepting electronic equipment, there were nearly similar expenditures for others between boys and girls
With regards to food, this was mostly purchased by adults with 25% of their income spending on these including 14% of men and 39% of women. In sharp contrast, kids’ expenses for this item was relatively lower with only 10%. While the portion of videos bought by adults was merely 1%, these were allocated to a majority of children’s expenditure with the figure of 12% comprising 18% and 17% of boys and girls repectively.
As far as electronic equipment and music are concerned, there was the same proportion of the adults choosing to buy them, which was 5%. However, while there was the same figure of 5% for both men and women paying for music, the other was seen with a huge difference between 2 genders when the figure for men was 9% higher than that of women. With respect to children, music was their main puporse of their expenditure with the figure of 39% comprising 38% and 40% of boys and girls respectively
