The table illustrates how much money was collected by charities in the US, EU and other countries to aid technology development in poor countries in the period between 2006 and 2010, measured in US dollars.
It is clear that the amount of money donated by the US residents was highest and increased gradually/ incrementally over the surveyed/ observed time span.
To be specific, in the US, the amount of financial support transferred to developing countries to promote technology was 9.7 billion in 2006, going up to 10.5 billion in the following year. The figure nearly doubled in 2010, to 22.7 billion, which was the highest number shown on the table for single-country funds.
Europe and other countries shared a relatively similar pattern. The former experienced a slight growth from 3.3 to 3.8 billion between 2006 and 2008, followed by an insignificant drop to 3.7 billion in 2009, before a rise in 2010 to 4.0 billion. Meanwhile, the aid of the latter was slightly lower, fluctuating between 2.7 and 3.3 billion during the same period.
The total donations also climbed up steadily from 15.7 in 2006 to 30 billion in 2010.
