The table shows data on four aspects of life standard in given countries.
In general, although the statistics on the first three compared factors in country E stood at the lead position, that on infant mortality rate in country A finally took up the highest proportion, in place of country E.
On one hand, it is coincident that the number of GNP, daily calories supply and life expectancy all experienced an accelerating trend from country A to E. Specifically, in terms of GNP, while country A drew the least attention from readers with just 140 dollars per head, the last country occupied the highest with 13 160 dollars per head. Likewise, with respect to everyday calories provision, the lowest and the largest amount remained unchanged between country A and E, with 1877 from the former and 3652 from the latter. Along with that, three middle countries from B to D had exactly similar numbers with 2086, 2950 and 2296 respectively. Interestingly, the same trend can be seen in life expectancy.
On the other hand, regarding newborn death rate, the opposite tendency is noticed. For example, the rate of infant mortality in country A accounted for 132 per 1000 live births which was eleven times as high as that in country E. Moreover, in country B, the period under study witnessed a considerable amount of the last aspect with 124 deaths, making this nation become the second dangerous place for babies.
