The tables below give information about fossil fuel and electricity use in two different countries. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two tables describe fossil fuel usage, which expressed in a percentage of total energy, and electricity consumption per person in kWh/year for two countries, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The statistics is provided for two years, 2013 and 2015.
Overall, there was a decrease in consumption of both resources in the given time interval for the countries listed. Comparing the countries, fossil fuel was a major (significant) portion of all the energy resources used in the UK, while in Sweden this parameter comprised only one(-)third of total energy. The opposite trend can be observed in electricity consumption: in Sweden people utilised almost three times more energy (close to 15000 kWh in Sweden and only about 5500 kWh in the UK).
Both in Sweden and in the UK fossil fuel usage declined by 3%, from 34 to 31 percent in Sweden and from 88 to 85 percent in the UK, as time progressed.
At the same time, an individual in Sweden consumed electricity equal to 14934 kWh in 2013, while in 2015 this value dropped by approximately 600 kWh. Similarly, the person living in the UK used less electricity in 2015 than in 2013, however, the amount of decrease was smaller, merely 250 kWh (from 5701 to 5452 kWh).
