Task 1
The bar charts demonstrate a comparison in percentages from Australia between energy consumption for a variety of applications and their respective contribution towards greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. While energy use for heating of water in addition to other miscellaneous uses are the main agents towards greenhouse gases compared to other purposes, heating in terms of climate control replaces other appliances to form, together, the largest area electricity is used for.
When it comes to using energy for refrigeration, at 7% and lighting, at 4%, the corresponding percentage of their emission of damaging gases doubles to be 14% and 8%. On the other hand, heating relative emissions is virtually the same as their relative consumption of energy. Water heating and cooling however are similar when comparing how much energy used for them and how much greenhouse gases this utilisation emits which hardly different. In terms of other applications, the relative use at 15% is not entirely similar to their emissions, 28%, which is more but not as significant as it is with lighting and refrigeration.
From these charts, it can be concluded that while energy use is higher in certain areas they might not be as effective in producing greenhouse gases as some other less used areas that may make more emissions.
