The chart below shows the proportion of day adults doing distinctive activities in a country between 1958 and 2008.
Overall, work was the most common activity in daily life among adults in two examined years. Besides, while the figure for sleeping and going out witnessed a downward trend, the opposite was true with other categories of activities.
Looking at more details in 1958, it was obvious that roughly one-third of day adults worked. The second most popular activity was sleeping, with 32%, only less 1 percent to the figure for working. Moreover, there were 19 percent of the day grow-ups hung out with friends and families, about twice as much as the number of relaxing at home, at 8%. The proportion of the day adults used for other activities such as playing sports is 6 percent, triple the figure for travelling for work.
In 2008, there was a significant increase in the percentage of day working to 42 percent while the second one fell to 25 percent. Furthermore, the third most common activity in 2008 was relaxing at home, at 13%. Interestingly, 2008 witnessed a fall of 13% in going out, an escalation of 6% in travelling to work and the figure for others remained stable.
