The given bar chart provides a comparison of the proportion of people who were born in and outside Australia and living in three different places (cities, towns, and rural areas) between 1950 and 2010.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that people born in and outside Australia living in cities has the highest propotion.
Looking at the chart for more details, it can be seen that, in 1950, the proportion of people born in Australia and living in cities was the highest, about 50%. The figures for people born in Australia living in towns and rural area was lower, at about 30%, and precisely 20%, respectively. Besides, the proportion of people born outside Australia living in cities is also the highest, at 60%. The figure of people born outside Australia living in rural areas was lower, at 40%, and the towns accounted for the lowest number, under 20%.
For the rest of the chart, in 2010, the percentage of citizens born in and outside Australia living in cities remained unchanged. the figure of citizens born in Australia living in rural areas and in towns declined, and shared the same number, at about 16%. There was also a decrease in the figure of citizens born outside Australia living in rural areas and in towns, at around 14%, and under 10%, correspondingly.
