The given pie chart Illustrates the main purpose leading to the decrease in the productivity of worldwide agricultural land. While the table below gives information on how these reasons influenced three main regions of the world in the 1990s.
In general, over-grazing and forest destruction were the main causes of going down in land productivity. The total percentage of degradation in Europe was the highest.
Focusing on the pie chart, overgrazing accounted for 35% of the total causes of worldwide land degradation because of feeding too many animals. Followed right after was deforestation, which took responsibility for 30% of the total. Over-cultivation was about 28% of the decrease in productivity. It was other reasons also contributed to this reduction; however, the contribution was not significant.
Turning to the provided table, it was Europe leading the drop in land degradation, which was 23% in total. North America showed the least influence by these purposes. It was just about 5%. Staying in the middle range, Oceania was 13% in total and was affected the most by overgrazing.
