Topic: The first graph shows the number of train passengers from 2000 to 2009. The second graph shows the percentage of trains running on time.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The first graph illustrates how many passengers travelling by train between 2000 and 2009, while the second one gives information about the proportion of trains operating timely as scheduled.
In general, it is apparent that the number of train travelers underwent a considerable fluctuation throughout the examination period. However, until the end of the period, there was a positive trend in the number of train passengers. Except for the years from 2004 to 2006, almost all train schedules ran punctually. Although the punctuality target remained unchanged, it was either achieved or exceeded only from 2002 to 2005 and again during the last two year.
Looking at the first graph, approximately 40 billion passengers selected train as their transportation in 2000, and this trend witnessed a constant increase in the next two years before declining back same as the first mentioned year. Between 2003 and 2005, there was a sustainable recovery in the number of train passengers to reach roughly at 50 billion before undergoing a serious crisis until 2008. Noticeably, at the end of the mentioned period, it showed a positive sign, standing merely 45 billion passengers.
Regarding the ratio of running trains on time, the punctuality goal was consistently set at 95%. The percentage of trains being punctual, meanwhile, increased considerably from 92% initially to 96% around 4 years later, followed by a substantial fall to the former level in 2005. Thereafter, the figure soared to a high of 97% in 2008 before leveling off toward the end of the time frame.
