The pie charts compare the percentage of world population contributed by each continent in the years 1910 and 2010.
Overall, the world population increased about 4 times over the 100-year period, with the proportion of world population from Asia and Europe falling, while that from Africa and Latin America rising.
In 1910, 60% of the population of the world was from Asia, while the populace in Europe(Including Russia) accounted for 25% of the world. By 2010, the number of Asian had fallen by 6%, and European’s percentage in the world had also declined by 11%. By contrast, population in North America remained stable at 5% of the total world population throughout the period in the same way as other territories ( 3% in both years).
On the other hand, both Africa and Latin America saw an increase in their population, from 4% and 3% in 1910 to 10% and 8% in 2000 respectively. Moreover, Middle East and North Africa, a new category appeared in 2010, took up a full 6% of the total number of people on the planet.
