writing task 1: the birth rates of China and America
The line graph gives information about the birth rates of China, and America from 1920 to 2000 and how these rates changed during the 80-year period.
Overall, it is clear that the birth rates of both nations decreased throughout the research given. Additionally, the two trend was similar to in terms of a general decline.
In 1920, the birth rate of the US began at about 11 and then decreased considerably to under 5 in 1945, despite some wide fluctuations. By contrast, in the 1945-1950 period, there was a sharp increase to exactly 15, which was its highest point over the period of 80 years. However, the rate of birth experienced a dramatic fall from 1950 to at the end of the period, reaching the final figure at about 7 in 2000.
At the same time, the birth rate in China varied more significantly than in the US. Although it began at only 10 in 1920, it dropped dramatically to 5 and remained stable from 1940 to 1945. before reaching the highest point of the whole line graph at 20, in 1950, the figure for China saw a sharp rise in 5 years. On the contrary, the birth rate in China fell rapidly, ending at approximately 2 in 2000.
