The line graph compares four different sectors in terms of acid rain emission in the UK from 1991 to 2007.

Overall, the volume of acid rain emissions caused by transportation and communication sector saw a slight increase over the period of 16 years. Meanwhile, the amount of acid rain emissions in the remainder sector decreased noticeably.

In the period of 1991 – 1997, the acid rain emissions from the sector of electricity, gas, and water supply started about 3.3 million of tones, after which it decreased dramatically by three times in 1997. The figure for electricity, gas and water supply continued to experience a gradually downward pattern, with the figure dropping to exactly 0.5 million of tones by the year 2007, while that of other industries also steadily decreased, but overtook electricity, gas and water supply, at approximately 1.2 million of tones.

Over the same period, the acid rain emissions from transport and communication varied more significantly than in the other sectors. It remained relatively stable at above 0.5 million of tones before doubling to reach the highest point of the whole line graph, at 1 million of tones, in 2005. By contrast, in the following two years, the volume of emissions decreased rapidly to about 0.7 million of tones. On the other hand, the emissions, contributed by domestic sector. Declined gradually over a 16-year period.
