Taking a year gap after finishing school and before going to university has become increasingly common. This dicusses the advantages and disadvantages of this scenario.
Firstly, In many countries quite common to take a year off. students can utilise the time in improving their skills and experience in particular field. For instance Universities in UK offer one year gap where students will take part in internships and start working in hospitals which makes them to become familiar with working environment. few students who cant afford for studies prefer to do part time jobs where they can save some money for their studies. this improve their skills and general knowledge about working environment so when they return back to university they can showcase themselves with the experience they gained while working. Students who work to earn money are those who know their responsisbilties.
However, Their are some disadvantages because of year off such as it will be difficult for students to get used to academic time tables after a long gap they will loose interest in studying and going to college everyday. Students who went for a vacation to other countries. it will be very difficult for them to get used to the customs and language of the country and they will not be in mood in come back and go to college again. it affects their academics in university
To sum up, though their are some disadvantages if the students are intersted in studies the year off wil not effect their academics, instead it boosts their studies because of the eperience they gaing working in the familiar environment.
