Decades ago, candidates were appointed on the basis of their experience. However, in this current contemporary society, the situation has been changed drastically as the employers now inquire about the personal information from applying individuals. Some people opine that these details are applicable and valuable while others do not. This essay will discuss both views in details first and my opinion the last.
A plethora of people believe that there are benefits to organizations in acquiring personal particulars from the applicant including his or her hobbies, marital status, residential status, et cetera. The primary advantage of obtaining such data is that multinational companies can gauge whether the applicant is fit or suitable for the respective job position or not. For instance, a position that requires a frequent travelling to various metropolitan cities will not be a good-fit for a married person due to his or her married commitments. That is why, employers find it to be useful to inquire about personal details from job applicants.
However, other people consider this process of hiring to be irrelevant and useless as they believe that technical skills and knowledge are more relatable than personal information of a candidate. For example, Companies should merely request applicants for their past experiences where they have shown different qualities like collaboration, coordination, strategic thinking and logical reasoning. Thus, if employers will as more job experience based question, only then they will get more meaningful information about applicants.
In conclusion, there are some people who completely support this system of obtaining personal particulars of applying interviewees while others are against it. In my opinion, companies should conduct an inquiry from aspirants regarding their job experience rather than personalized details
