Essay topics:

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

Write a letter to your relative. In your letter:

explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house
tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house
say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Dear Akka,

I wish I could receive you at the railway station on the morning of 20 May. Unfortunately, I will be reaching home back from by business trip only by 7 pm the same day.

Our neighbour, Mrs Rajeshwari happens to be making it to the station a bit earlier than you- to greet her friend travelling by the 7 am train. She has been kind enough to volunteer to wait with our house keys at the entrance. As your schedule is at 7.10 am, she would not be kept waiting for long.

You both can come home by her car. If she cannot manage to find a driver, you would be hiring a pre-paid taxi from the counter opposite the facade.

Let us make it to the Jalpaan Restaurant that night. They have some exquisite dishes including Italian delicacies and North Indian specialities. It is a long time since I went there, but the last experience keeps beckoning me! Now that you will be here, we will have some real fun too.

I look forward to meet you soon.

Yours faithfully,
Sudhankumar C
