A local college is having an international day. You want to speak about your country to students from different cultures. Write a letter to the college head. In your letter:
Tell him/her about the topics that you are going to talk about
Explain why would they be of interest to the students
Ask about any arrangements that you need to make to give the talk
Dear Mr. Mathieu Couvert,
I am writing this letter to express my interest in speaking about my country on the international day event organized by our college.
My country has a very unique culture; therefore, I would like to share a lot of information related to the food, clothes, sports and our local language. Moreover, I will talk about the positive contributions to the world that people from my country have made in the last few decades.
In the last few years, my country was portrayed negatively in the western media. Most of the students at our college study international politics; therefore, I think it will be very interesting for them to know the positive aspects of my country. This information is often not available through television programs.
I will really appreciate it if I can get access to a projector because I’m planning to share a few pictures during my speech. Furthermore, a sound system will be required because I want to play a few audio recordings as well.
I hope you will accept my request. Thanking you in advance.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Urvashi
