Soring waste production has become one of the main problems across the world. This essay discusses the reason behind this phenomenon and explore the measures governments need to take to bring this under control.
One of the key reasons for increased production of waste is the usage of single use plastic items. World is going towards a throw away culture, and people often tend to use single purpose items such as plastic food packaging, cups or water bottles because it is easy for them and also, they are readily available at a cheaper rate. Moreover, companies worsen this situation by introducing more and more attractive and easy to use plastic packaging or products to lure customers or as a way to reduce their production costs. Another reason behind the garbage problem is increased factory waste. With the relentless population growth, more and more products need to be produced, resulting increased number of factories. Factories often produce more waste as a result of the production process. It is often the case that this waste is not managed properly because it can be expensive, leading to reduced profits, putting strain on the environment.
One of the most effective solutions to tackle this menace is governments to tighten the rules and regulations against producing single use plastics. For example, governments can ban plastic food packaging and take serious actions against the companies who violates these rules, thereby encouraging all to go for eco-friendly alternatives. Most of the European countries have already switched to using bio degradable wrappings or containers such as recycled paper. Governments also can closely monitor and regulate how factories manage their waste products, and take actions against those who violate it. Had the governments taken these actions already, we could have lived in a world without having to worry about garbage piles.
In conclusion, single use plastic items and factory waste can be mainly attributed to the increased waste production around the world. However, governments can put forward strict rules and regulations against companies and factories to eradicate this problem.
