An old friend of yours is coming to visit your city. You had planned to meet him at the airport,
but something has come up and you will not be able to make it there on time.
Write to your friend. In your letter
Explain the situation
Offer to make alternate arrangements
Dear Julia,
How are you doing? I hope you are all packed and prepared to come over and experiencing an awesome vacation here in Sydney. I provided a list of cool activities that we should do during these days. Good news, that my office approved the leave day request for a week. However, unfortunately, it will start one day after your arrival. It means, I sadly can't be at the airport the time you will arrive.
I was thinking of giving you direction using public transports when my roommate suggested picking you up at the airport. You know, she is Chinese with a little difficulty to speak English however, I believe, she is ad much adorable as you. Hopefully you feel comfortable with her. Anyways, how's your family? They will be amazed seeing you here. Don't forget sending postcards. How I wish your sister, Jesse, also could make to come. Can't wait to see you here.
Love,
Sara
