Some people think that instead of preventing climate change, we need to find a way to live with it. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Climate change, which has a potential threat to our Earth, is occurring at an alarming rate. Some people suggest a flexible lifestyle with related risks. I completely disagree with this opinion because there is enough time for prevention and negative impacts are challenging to handle.
First of all, there are a variety of actions to reduce the human impact on climate change. Local authorities should provide regulations to reduce the carbon footprint by limiting factory production and vehicles on the road. Moreover, so-called ‘green taxes’ should be imposed on resources of pollution which can lead to global warming. As individuals, residents can participate in the eco-friendly movement by recycling and reducing household waste, planting more trees, commuting by public transport, and so on. Another option for us is to vote for politicians who propose to prevent natural disasters rather than who prefer to neglect them.
However, if human beings continue to turn a blind eye to this catastrophic incident, the consequences are unimaginable. On top of all, even a rise in sea level can cause chaos in our society. For example, it can result in torrential flooding, as a result, people living in low-lying areas or near coastal areas have to migrate, leaving their all properties. A month of this disastrous event can leave people with homelessness, famine, and outbreaks of poverty and diseases. It is certainly impossible for poor nations that lack finance and resources to cover the damage. In addition, reaching a peak in global temperature can also trigger the extinction of rare plants and animals.
In conclusion, the effects of climate change are coming closer with the rise in pollution, industrialization, and transport. Fortunately, we, humans, still have enough time to perform adequate planning and mitigations. Therefore, the responsibilities lie with both authorities and individuals to start doing precautions urgently.
