You are due to move into a rented apartment next month but you will not be able to because you have some problems.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter:
explain your situation
describe your problems
tell him/her when you think you can move in
Dear Mr. Johnson,
I am peter potter and I agree to rent your apartment no 214, Yemen road. I was supposed to move to that apartment this month. However, I am afraid to inform you I won't be able to move in this month due to some office work.
Your apartment is closer to my office hence I decide to rent your apartment without a doubt. Yesterday, my boss informed me that I have to attend one conference which is really important for my work. The conference is next weekend for three days. As you can see, this conference is really important to me. I need preparation time for the conference, so I am not able to move in this month.
After coming back from the conference, I will shift into your apartment. I would highly appreciate it if you could allow me to move to the apartment next month. I deeply apologize for this inconvenience.
Looking forward to your response and thank you for giving your attention to this matter
Yours sincerely,
Peter potter
