You are experiencing financial problems and want to ask your landlord if you can pay your rent late. Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter explain:Why you are writing to himWhy you cannot pay the rentWhen you will pay the rent.

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am John who lives in second floor of this flat. Actually, I am going to ask you for giving me a chance if I could pay the rent of house by delay.

To tell the truth, I am facing with some financial problems. I am going to participate in an important exam that is going to happen in two days and it costed me a fortune and as I have lost my job recently, had to spend all my money on that and no money has been remained to go for paying the rent.

I would be really thankful if you could do me that favour. I promise to pay the rent of this months until the end of the next month.

I thank you in advance because of being so considerate.

Yours Sincerely,

F. BAGHERI

Dear Sir,

Hope you are doing good. I am writing this letter to request you to allow me pay house rent after 1 month.
I am going through a tough time financially as I’m not working from past 3 months. Addition to this, I got my son admitted to new school, which can't be further delayed, as he is already 4 years old. Due to such circumstances I am left with no money to pay house rent.
I have started work on couple of new projects and the clients have assured me to pay upfront for the deliverable's. So, request you to kindly grand me extension for rent payment by 2 weeks. I will be able to pay rent on 8th May. I assure you that such delay won’t happen in future.

I hope this will be acceptable to you. Please contact me if it is a problem for you.

Kind Regards,
Mahesh
