You own an old item that you think is valuable and would like to sell. Write a letter to the owner of an antique shop.
In your letter
explain how you found the shop
describe the item that you would like to sell
say how much you would like to sell the item for
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to sell one of my antique watches at your store, which has been passed down to me by my grandfather. I believe that it would attract more customers to your shop.
As for how I came to know about your business, one of my friends referred it to me as he recently sold his vintage car at your shop and received a good amount of money in return. In fact, he also mentioned that you have a large collection of unique items at your store, such as 19th-century gold-plated watches, cars, and home interior items.
The item in question is my Rolex Submariner dive watch, which has a stainless-steel bracelet and a black bezel and has been gifted to me by my ancestors. As for the present condition of the watch is concerned, it is in mint condition without any scratches on it.
With regard to the selling price of this ancient watch, considering its condition and market value I would like to sell it for $200 which I think is a fairly reasonable price to ask for. I would also like to mention that I would only accept cash payment for this deal.
Please let me know if you like this deal. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Keith
