You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to
go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
• say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
• explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
• suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Dear Sara,
How have you been?. It has been a long time since we last met. I received your letter and I am happy that you completed your graduation and are seeking advice on whether to go for a post-graduation or start working.

I can understand that this is a very critical juncture in your career and choosing one over another can have implications for your future. In my opinion, going to college is not a good idea, as the college curriculum will not be interesting unless you gain relevant working experience. More importantly, your present financial constraints will be a burden during the years in college.

Hence finding a suitable workplace will be more beneficial for you, as you will gain valuable professional experience which will add value to your future career aspirations. By doing this chances of getting admittance to a reputed college will increase as universities give preference to candidates who have a good work experience.

Hope you take my advice seriously and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Warm wishes
Vinshu
